Sikh woman gives land for mosque, Hindus pitch in with financial aid

In the Season of Giving, a 75-Sikh woman has donated land for construction of a mosque in a village of Punjab’s Fatehgarh Sahib district, and Sikh and Hindu families have pitched in with money.
This heart-warming tale comes from Jakhwali -a predominantly Sikh village (400500 families), with sizable Hindu (150 families) and Muslim (100 families) populations. This hamlet, around 55km from Chandigarh, has a gurdwara and a Shiva Temple but no mosque.
