Baby wants blush? Toddler makeup poses a new dilemma for parents

Remember the good old days of CTM (cleansing, toning, moisturising) — the staple skincare routine of the 90s? Fast forward to 2025, skincare has evolved into a multi-step process that involves the use of various creams and serums to attain glass-like glowing skin. While teens, 20 and 30-somethings already have set AM-PM routines, now even kids and toddlers are experimenting with cosmetics and skin care products to look ‘just right’ for birthday parties.
“Makeup gives her some kind of happiness,” says Shweta Sharma when she is talking about her three-year-old daughter Saanvi’s love for using cosmetics, especially lip gloss and nail paint. The Delhi mom had bought Saanvi a kids’ makeup kit for pretend play but the little one grew fond of actually applying the products on her face.
