Why Pakistan has declared ‘open war’ against Afghanistan

What started with Pakistan carrying out strikes at alleged terror camps in Afghanistan last week has descended into what the country’s defence minister has termed ‘open war’.
The conflict between the two nations escalated when Pakistan launched airstrikes on multiple alleged militant bases along the border between the countries on February 21. Pakistani security sources said the strike killed at least 70 terrorists, while the United Nations said at least 13 civilians were killed.
