Russian oil is a no-go for Indian refineries, can Venezuela be the alternative?

That’s why India is forever scanning the globe for affordable oil, importing nearly 89% of what it needs. For the past few years, Russia has played the role of the reliable bargain supplier. Now, as Russian oil becomes harder to come by, a new name has entered the conversation: Venezuela. It’s an unexpected guest. After all, Venezuela is better known for empty shelves and political drama than for rescuing other countries’ energy needs. But beneath all that turmoil lies a staggering treasure — about 303 billion barrels of oil, the largest reserves on the planet.
