Is this the end of the 10-minute delivery race?

India’s quick-commerce platforms, which built their identity around ultra-fast deliveries, are now being pushed to step back from the headline-grabbing “10-minute” promise. This isn’t because consumer demand has softened, but because the government has decided the model carries unacceptable risks for gig workers.
At the centre of this shift is sustained intervention by the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, which has been engaging with delivery platforms amid rising concerns about worker safety, mental stress and regulatory accountability.
